- Crop planning, plant growth, soil, water, nutrition and responsible pest management.
- Hemp and cannabis production contexts, record keeping, quality and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Agricultural business planning, budgets, costing, procurement, risk, people management and entrepreneurship.
- Supply-chain development: inputs, production planning, traceability, storage, logistics, processing pathways, market research and buyer relationships.
Any future curriculum should distinguish industrial hemp from other regulated cannabis activities. A qualification does not itself grant a permit, licence or right to cultivate, process or trade.

SAQA records this Higher Certificate at NQF Level 5 with 120 credits, in the Higher Education Qualifications Sub-framework, originating with Cheeba Cannabis Academy. Its registration runs from 17 April 2025 to 17 April 2028. SAQA currently lists no accredited providers for this qualification. It is a reference for curriculum topics, not evidence of Services SETA or QCTO alignment or of Bright Ideas’ authority to offer it.

Higher Occupational Certificate: Mixed Crop and Livestock Farmer · SAQA ID 125077
SAQA records this occupational qualification at NQF Level 5 with 197 credits. Its development quality partner is AgriSETA and its quality council is QCTO. It is registered from 13 November 2025 to 13 November 2030 and covers broad crop and livestock farming, agribusiness development and market relationships; it is not cannabis-specific. SAQA currently lists no accredited providers for it. This is a possible competency crosswalk, not proof of Bright Ideas’ accreditation or programme approval.
