What information do we collect?

When you send an enquiry or application, we may collect the details you choose to provide, such as your name, contact details, organisation, programme of interest and message. Please do not include an identity number or upload supporting documents through a general website enquiry. If you proceed to enrolment, we will explain separately what learner information is required and why.

Our website may also process basic technical information, such as server logs, to operate and protect the site. This theme does not add analytics or advertising scripts. The Google Form linked from this website is operated by Google and may use Google’s own cookies and technical data.

Why do we use it?

  • To respond to your enquiry and provide programme information.
  • To assess an application or discuss a possible enrolment or group learning request.
  • To maintain appropriate business and learner records and meet legal or regulatory duties.
  • To send optional marketing information only where you have chosen to receive it. You can withdraw that consent at any time.

We use information for the purpose for which it was collected, or for a compatible purpose permitted by law. We do not sell your personal information.

Who may receive it?

We may use service providers that help us operate the website and handle enquiries. The application link uses Google Forms and responses may be stored in Google services. Google may process information on systems outside South Africa. Where needed for an application, enrolment, quality assurance or a legal duty, relevant information may be shared with the applicable education or regulatory body. We limit access to people who need the information for these purposes.

For information about how Google handles information, see Google’s Privacy Policy.

How long do we keep it?

We keep personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected, or for a longer period where a law, contract or legitimate record-keeping need requires it. When it is no longer authorised or needed, we delete, destroy or de-identify it as reasonably practicable.

How do we protect it?

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect personal information against loss, unauthorised access, use, alteration or disclosure. No method of sending or storing information can be guaranteed completely secure. If a security compromise affects your information, we will take the steps required by law.

Your choices and rights

You may ask us whether we hold your personal information, request access to it, ask us to correct inaccurate information, or object to or request restriction of processing where POPIA allows. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it. You may also ask us to delete information where we are no longer authorised to keep it. Contact us at info@brightideastraining.co.za. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za or email POPIAComplaints@inforegulator.org.za.
